Meet the team:

Don Polaine, Team Manager

After many years working as a Local Authority Social Worker in Child Protection, I began my career with Fusion Fostering in 2013 and have not looked back since. Fusion is totally committed to its carers

and ensures they are not alone when they foster. Someone is always at the end of the phone, day or night, to support our foster carers. I believe that this individualised approach enables foster carers to do their job more effectively and achieve more positive outcomes for the children in their care. I would describe working for Fusion as being part of an extended family, which is how many of our fost

er carers feel. It is very rewarding to see children settled with foster carers through a thorough and robust matching system. Personally, I love seeing children being allowed to reach their potential in the right environment as well as prepare them for independence. The key aspect of enabling this is to ensure the foster carer’s needs are also considered so that they feel fully supported.

Sally Payne,

Supervising Social Worker

After thirty years of working in different areas of the Care Sector – both public and private, with various client groups of both adults and children – I landed in fostering. To me, fostering embodies all that is good in people; ordinary people with their own busy lives and own birth children, who are able to extend themselves to welcome another person’s child or children into their homes and their hearts. Children in care, through no fault of their own, have to live away from their family of birth and deserve to receive the very best of care and attention. Thankfully, when I eventually landed, it was with Fusion. Fusion Fostering have the highest of standards and ensure that all their foster carers are fully supported at all times. Nobody will tell you that fostering is easy, but it is extremely rewarding. I am happy to be part of the Fusion family, and I look forward to working with you if you decide to come on our journey with us.
