The Team

Jan and Austen

We have been social workers for thirty years. We have worked in social services and multidisciplinary settings involving Mental Health with Children and Families. Our focus now, is in family placement, finding suitable foster carers to care for the many children needing a safe, caring and nurturing family environment.

Our carers receive full support and training from our experienced team. I (Austen) enjoy my football whereas Jan likes going to west end shows.

Jonathan Howgill

I have been Employed with Fusion Fostering since 2015. I am Senior Social Worker covering the Brighton, East Sussex and West Sussex areas. I have a passion for working with children and young people and started my career in Supported Housing for 16-25 years olds in 2008.

I have been a Qualified Social Worker since 2012 and have extensive Social Work experience, including Child Protection, Fostering, Looked After Children and Adoption. I also work as a mentor for University Students with Mental Health difficulties. In my spare time I am a keen runner and cyclist and love keeping fit by doing regular triathlons.

In 2015 I completed the UK Ironman and currently planning my next challenge for 2018!

Katie Gibson Cook

I operate within the Portsmouth/Southampton/Bournemouth areas. My parents began fostering when I was 2 years old and enjoyed a career lasting over 25 years caring for many children with very different needs. This experience naturally impacted greatly on me growing up and helped find my chosen career path of Social Work.

I have worked in fostering since 2010 for a number of different fostering agencies, eventually finding the agency for me, Fusion Fostering! I love spending time with my little sisters who were adopted into our family in 2013.

Mark Gibson Cook

Hi! I am Mark and I work for Fusion in the South. In my career I have worked for Fostering agencies, Charities, in Learning and development, supported accommodation and various outreach projects working with schools and in the community with young people. This ranges from 1-1 work, group work and training to launching and managing new provisions and teams. I have found my dream job working with Fusion and young people in care, being able to see and make a difference in young people’s lives. I like to keep fit, play sports and I get to lose at almost all of them when I work with our young people.

Lynne Busson

I am a Senior Social Worker in Berkshire and currently have 6 carers. I have been involved in fostering since 1994, when I became a foster carer. I qualified as a Social Worker in 2004. I work very much as a team with my foster carers and I am proud of the work we do in supporting the carers and children in our care.

Outside of work, I breed horses on a hobby basis, mostly showjumpers.

Helen Green

I joined Fusion Fostering South East  in 2015 as the regional administrator. I have worked in administration for over 25 years in a range of environments including Schools and financial institutions. I used to help run a cub pack, and enjoyed seeing children develop.
