Hi, my name is Joanne Lawley and I have been with Fusion Fostering since January 2017.
I am an experienced social worker with over 20 years experience working in the social care sector for various Local Authorities in the West Midlands within Children and Family teams.
I have been a Foster carer for 12 years, working 6 years in a private agency and the remainder in a local authority setting. In that time I have cared for many children and young people who have had complex and challenging needs.
I like to share my knowledge with other as I believes it benefits all in the foster care industry, as we want to achieves more for all of Fusion’s children!
In my spare time I enjoy travelling, going to the gym and spending time with my family.
Hi, my name is Karen. I have been with Fusion Fostering for 3 years as a Senior Social Worker. I have worked as a social worker for 15 years and worked in the fostering sector for 12 years. I have also been a Foster Carer myself, overall 27 years of experience in child care.
My background is a qualified Nursery Nurse and I was a school based Social Worker where I worked in a team with other professionals.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the theatre/musicals and support the young members of my family in their aspirations. I love my holidays but mostly spa days so I can pamper myself! Food is also my passion and I love cooking when I have the time.
My Name is Roberta, I have worked at Fusion Fostering as a Supervising Social Worker since January 2017. I also take the lead on child participation in the West Midlands. My background is working at charities where I have been a Contact Supervisor, a Child Sexual Exploitation Advocate and a Human Trafficking Officer.
In my spare time I like to socialise and shop but one of my biggest aims outside of work is to slowly but surely concur my travelling bucket list one country at a time!
Hi, my name is Ruby and I am a Senior Social Worker at Fusion and I have been a social worker for 34 years, working in; child protection, fostering and adoption. I am a Board Manager for a Local Safeguarding Children’s Board and previously I was the Head of Safeguarding for a national charity.
This work always provides a real sense of understanding of what each child might have experienced and how we can find nurturing and supportive families, within which each child may thrive and grow.
In my spare time I have various hobbies and interests including running a local book-club; I am a member of a health spa and attend the gym and swim as often as I can. I live in the beautiful countryside which enables me to spend a lot of time walking. I have a fairly musical and foodie family so playing instruments and listening to live music and dining out is part of our family life.
I’m Martin and work alongside my wife Ruby, who is the Supervising Social Worker in our Care Partnership with Fusion Fostering based in Ludlow, Shropshire.
I have had a career in Social Care, supporting adults and children with complex disabilities and sensory impairments and I have a background in developing services in the voluntary sector. This is my first experience of working in fostering and already I am finding the work undertaken by foster carers in our care partnership and elsewhere in Fusion Fostering to be inspirational.
I’m a musician and writer and enjoy a life in the arts as well as travel, socialising with family and friends, walking and hiking.
