Fusion Fostering values the work foster carers do and the contribution they make to the lives of children and young people. Therefore the support offered to families who foster is vitally important to a successful placement.
Fusion Fostering provides flexible support arrangements for children/young people and their foster carers. Identifying and arranging the necessary level of support occurs when a child/young person and foster family are ‘matched’ at the placement planning stage. The support is then monitored and adjusted throughout the placement as required.
Fusion Fostering offers the following support to foster carers:
Access to an experienced senior member of the Fusion Fostering staff team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Supervision and support from a qualified and suitably experienced Fusion Fostering Senior Support Worker or qualified Supervising Social Worker on a monthly basis or as otherwise determined by the needs of the child and foster carer.
Regular telephone contact from a Support Worker/ Supervising Social Worker which is determined by the child in placement or the needs of the foster carer.
Carers support group meetings.
A minimum of two unannounced visits are undertaken each year by a member of the Fostering Service.
The service pays for each set of carers to have a subscription to the Foster Talk, offering an opportunity to seek advice/guidance.
The caseload of the Supervising Social Worker is a ratio of maximum 1:10 offering high levels of consistent support/advice.
The organisation has Public Liability Insurance, covering carers within their work.
