Jade’s Story | Sons and Daughters month

We are delighted to share this impacting poem today for Sons and Daughters month:

Birth child, and Fusion Support Worker

It all started with my Mum,

We thought fostering would be fun,

We packed our bags and moved to a bigger home,

Full of wonder and worry of the unknown,

Just like that, foster panel was done,

Then came the children, one by one,

It isn’t always plain sailing,

But we remind ourselves we are never failing,

There are lots of obstacles to overcome,

But working together we know it can be done,

We welcome the children into our home,

And always remind them they are not alone,

After all their struggles and strife,

Our mission is to give them a better life,

I support my Mum with the care,

And become the parent when she Is not there.

One day I lost my job,

But I did not need to sob,

Because what came next, I would never tell,

I quickly became part of Fusions ‘Team Bell’,

To help the carers and give them a break,

The young people, out I take,

A trip to the park, or maybe the zoo,

Or anything else they choose to do!

The next chapter of my tale,

I know for sure I will not fail,

One day I will fly the nest,

As I have learnt from the best,

I have a lot of love to share,

Which will help me with MY foster care.
